Redesign and audit project for heavy material evacuation systems in an industrial plant in Santo Domingo.
The plant had recurring blockages in the gravity ducts, causing production stoppages of up to 4 hours per week. Previous work budgets did not consider the actual flow of metal waste.
We conducted a waste flow analysis with 3D modeling and on-site measurements. We applied civil engineering principles to redesign the slopes and diameters of the metal ducts.
12 sections of polished stainless steel pipe with sealed joints were installed. The team was trained in predictive maintenance and in preparing work budgets adjusted to operational reality.
92% reduction in unscheduled stoppages. Annual savings of $47,000 in maintenance costs. The industrial ducts have been operating with optimal efficiency ever since.
